         STROLL FOR STREET CHILDREN 2009

Join us in the 2009 Stroll for Street Children Sunday 20th September 2009

A 5 mile sponsored Walk over the beautiful Burton Dassett Hils with supberb views over the Warwickshire countryside.

There are two country pubs en route too!

The walk starts at 2.30pm from the wardens hut atop the Burton Dassett Country Park  near Northend just off the  Gaydon M40 junction.

DIRECTIONS Come off the motorway at the Gaydon junction, follow the signs to Gaydon and at the roundabout turn left.  continue until just past the Army camp on your right and take the left turn to Northend.  Cross over the motorway bridge and go straight on until you reach the top of the hills where you will find the registration tent.

PAINLESS SPONSORSHIP COLLECTION

It is easy to request sponsorship from your friends & family via our online facility at

www.mycharitypage.com/compassiondirectUK.

All you need to do is to click the above link to set up your own fundraising page with 'My Charity Page'.  When you have done that, email your friends & family with your page link to ask for their support.  Supporters can leave you a message on your page & can donate as much or as little as they wish via their credit cards, the money goes directly into our bank account, they even collect Gift Aid for us too.  If you wish you can request a sponsor form  from ros@compassiondirect.co.uk to collect from your non online/visa friends and then pay the money onto your own Page or send it by post to the address at the bottom of the form.

All you need to do then is to enjoy the walk and know that you are doing your bit for a good cause.

WHERE DOES THE MONEY GO?

Have a look at out project pages to seee how we spend your cash and remember that we have no paid employees so our costs are low and your money is taken directly to the people who need it bypassing other agencies.

The money you raise may be used to buy wind turbines to supply energy for mountain schools, it may be used to buy school packs so that street children can start school or to provide the cash to set up a kindergarten in a shanty town.  It may be used to set up a sewing workshop or leather workshop so that young shanty dwellers can make a living to help their families or to buy books for readers at an after schoolcomador - soup kitchen.  Or it could be used to begin to fund a new CDUK supported project.

If traveling to Warwickshire is too far, we can send you a sponsor form to use for a walk of your choice in your area, just let us know when and where you intend to walk.

You could Organise a Stroll of your own in your own county or country.  We can send you an information pack to help you. Mail: ros@compassiondirect.co.uk for more details.

None of that awful asking arround afterwards for the promised cash which we all hate if you use the My Charity Page system?

We had SUN and a great day on

SUNDAY 14TH SEPTEMBER 2008 thanks to everyone who contributed in so many different ways.

THE 5 MILE SPONSORED WALK round Avon Dassett & Fenny Compton in 2008 raised over £2500..

the 2008 Stroll helped to provide money to continue a building programme at a soup kitchen, funded machinery in a leather workshop and sent a wind turbine to provide energy for a school in a mountain area.

First stalwart walkers arriving back from the 2007 five mile walk. Damp but happy that they had provided a wind Turbine for Salta Schools
